Now that s2 is turning 3, I want him to go part time to day care to socialize with kids, learn more things etc. Granma will still look after him part time as well.

Just stay the course and let gma take care of your son. Frequent outings to the park or visits with your friends who have kids will provide all the "socialization" he needs at his age especially when you consider his mom will be "socializing" him full time while he's with her.

I'd also send an R3 letter to mom objecting to her unilateral choice of daycare and tell her you will not agree to that daycare, now or later, when there are other choices that are geographically convenient to both of you. If you don't document your objection now then it could be construed as your having consented as a later time.

Forget all that. This is the best of both worlds for singledad111. He can object to her choosing a facility 20 miles away. He wants his kid to get 'socialized', and now the child can get that during mom's week. Then he can continue with granmama, reducing his cost substantially.

guys- Has anyone considered that the grandmother is the maternal grandmother? I believe that is the case here. If OP works as I believe he does, he needs care.

Germs are fine. It builds character. :roll eyes: But it could build immunity. I like being social...they can learn some good things in daycare.

I never went to daycare and I'm a social butterfly. my STBX/NJ didn't and she's a socially retarded idiot...

But I'm pro-daycare...minus the cost of course. But if I had free day during the week, I would have no problem with my Wingman hanging with me during the day.

And most grandmas are well connected for social activities. Lets get real, the best interest for the child is what should be, and grandma vs. daycare, there is no contest, after what he has said.
