Ok, I have a full-time job. But for the past few years I've done some online work to supplement my income & made on average between $10k and $20k a year. I've stopped doing it because my methods are basically considered spamming which is *cough* illegal. My stbx knows what I was doing.

What are my chances of arguing that this part of my income should not be considered for support payments because it is from an illegitimate source or activity? Or would it be better to not mention this and just suck it up?

If not then simply do not list it it as an income source. I know your 1040 from prior years shows it but you can show proof no income from this source. If your stbx brings it up let her spend her money to prove you still currently get income from this source.

Use some of that income to buy some KY jelly in case your STBX has a better lawyer than you think. If you follow that advice from chi, you may well need it, in generous portions.
