Contingency Daycare

Postby Claudius » Mon Apr 09, 2012 12:33 pm

I'm trying to plan ahead and figure out what I should do if I have divorce-related 'business' that comes up urgently, but have my two preschool-aged children with me at the time. (For example, hypothetically, I need to file ex parte after NJ has been removed from the house for DV.)

I have one non-working relative in a reasonable distance, but the person is only in-state part-time. I can't count on them being available at a particular time. Other than that, anyone - literally, anyone - I might leave them with would be affiliated with NJ. I wouldn't get the kids back.

I mean, I could make daycare plans for when I was working, for example. I'm talking about something that comes up NOW that it wouldn't be appropriate to bring this kids along to. Anyone had to figure this out before?

I did similar. I registered at the local Kids R Kids. It is in the neighborhood- literally surrounded by the homes in the neighborhood, well reviewed, etc. It was just under $100 registration and they offered a day use fee. The day use is $45.
The registration is good for 1 year.
...or I could be wrong.
