I went home on my lunch break and caught my GF...

Ironing the pillowcases! She is always tidy and organized, but this was a little much for me. She is moving away next monday so we will be doing the long distance thing indefinitely.

Honestly, I have my doubts but I am subleasing her place (.4 miles from work) til august.

But just a question to you guys. Lets say that she was not moving 4 hours away. After a whole year of dating and seeing virtually no signs of NJ activity, what would you think if your woman ironed the pillowcases? Signs of a future NJ or temporary OCD? Is it normal to iron the pillowcases? Am I a slob for not giving a rip about wrinkly pillowcases?

I had one like that. She kept it hidden for a while but when I came home and the pantry was alphabetized , I knew we were on borrowed time.

You mean she labeled the pantry, she told you, or you just noticed that things were in alphebetical order?

I came home and noticed things had been moved around and obviously some work had been done and I said something like "You've been busy today." She was all too proud to show me everything she'd done. All the long sleeve shirts hung with long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shirts with the short sleeve shirts. Sorted by color. Canned goods in alphabetical order, neatly stacked. Boxed goods also sorted by size and alphabatized.

Not that I cared. I didn't. She'd have made a wonderful maid but I wasn't looking for a maid. I'm not interested in taking crap for how I put up my own groceries or laundry.

I think it depends on how she reacts when YOU are NOT that clean and tidy.
If she wants to iron pillowcases who cares.
How does she react when you put wrinkled ones on? That's what I would wonder about.

FoF is soooo right. These are the things that NJ's just love to do for themselves and you during the Dreamy phase of the relationship. Then after your married for a couple years these are the same things they hate about you. Ever look back and wonder how two people that wanted to spend the rest of their life together enough to get married are now in a divorce and when you look at it nobody has changed that much. It is because the same things that were OK or even brought you together as singles now drives a NJ crazy.

With my NJ it was religion. She was kind of "Born again" when I met her. Religion was in my life but did not run my life. She would quote me from the Bible about how a man is the head of the house and so on. How she wanted a strong, responsible man to lead the family. Then after a few years of marriage that is exactly why she could not stand me anymore. "You are so controlling".

In a million ways. My ex used to enjoy pigtails, and I thought she looked great in them. Now according to her, I'm a pediphile.

Hmm...tell her you're not a pedophile. You just like Dutch women. Big buxom blonde hotties. Of which she not longer belongs to the group-with or without pigtails
