She still won't let me speak to the kids going on over two daays now and counting. I always thought that that was in contempt? I didn't think you can keep your kids from the other parent. Logical thinking would make you think well if I do it he going to do it too so why would I do it. I think it's just possibly an attempt to cause me to lose control and get me in trouble.

If she is failing to obey the court orders then she is on her way to being guilty of contempt. To enforce, you need to document her noncompliance through R3 letters each time. Offer a remedy. Document her refusal to accommodate a remedy. Be reasonable in every communication in every conceivable way. There is more than a few threads with step by step instructions.

Gather several slam dunk instances and file for contempt seeking remedies and fees.

Repeat until it sinks in.

Think it is registered mail so she has to sign for it

Return Reciept Requested is a documentable, verifiable , legally acceptable method of notification between two parties.

It's much better than "I told her" or "I emailed her". It's I sent a letter, here is a copy of the letter she signed for and here is a proof of delivery receipt where she signed for it. It's hard to argue with that.

It shows that she wasn't even interested enough to get the mail. It shows you tried in a reasonable manner. It will also lend credibility to your claim that you also sent the same thing by snail mail and email. She cannot reasonably claim she did not know and was not aware.

A few bucks and some change vs 100 buck a pop for angry lawyer letters.

States vary. In my state, providing the proof of mailing to the court is considered that the other person was notified.

I'm pretty sure she would just let them be returned.... I may be able to fire one off, but after that I'd be getting them back. Maybe I could copy her L?
