I forget the details. Was the divorce case settled yet? If not, keep your chin up. One does not have to be convicted of DV for DV to be shown to have occurred in a divorce hearing. Heck, if you have evidence of DV that NJ hasn't heard yet, try to use that to grind out a confession on the stand that will help in the custody argument, or use the evidence to argue your case and influence the custody decision.
...or I could be wrong.
