You're absolutely right Hanzblinx. I know I don't have it bad compared to most people. My CS includes my insurance but excludes child activities which I pay separately at about $600 a month as well. But base child support is still not calculated the way it SHOULD be and something needs to be done about it. Too many fathers are financially ruined because of the way things are calculated today. We can all sit here and share stories and talk about how unfair it is or we can try to do something about it. Lobby to the child support commissions in each state. I know it's an uphill battle but someone's got to do it.

Just curious if anyone here has written their state government or CS commissions.

If you are a logical person, CS formulas will drive you insane as they are one-sided in most states.

One sided for the custodial parent, which tends to be the female.

It's also one of the motives they try to attribute to the dad who is seeking primary custody. "He's just asking for primary to get out of paying CS". Makes my blood boil.

Jerocks, let's see, using your figures, you pay 1250 a month for two kids out of (presumably) $115k annual income. That's just 13 percent. Seems to me that's low.
20 percent is or was the standard in Texas for just one child, which I was quite capable of handling on a lot less pay.
If you are short of money, then you've got to cut back on the expenses you can control.
