S8 has missed six (6) days in the 2011/12 school year (3% overall).
Twelve (12) overnights in May, want more.
Nj/stbx intends for me to get 1 night per week and only a custody trial will change that.
Nj/stbx abandoned marital home and took S8 with her.
S8 has a solid academic performance.
Fourteen (14) days remaining in school year.
Nj/stbx and her attorney cleverly deny overnight visits and I take them anyways

I want to have S8 stay with me for the Memorial Day long weekend.

What impact do school absences have on custody decisions?

Is having S8 absent from school for one day NOT in his best interests?

I anticipate nj/stbx will make a big deal out of me having S8 absent on the Friday before Memorial Day.

Is a one school day absence a reasonable risk to lock in six (6) sequential overnight visits and bring my monthly total to eighteen (18) overnights?

NJ/stbx has been freaking out with me asserting my parenting rights at more than two (2) nights per week this month. Nj/stbx gravy train is disappearing with each extra overnight I take for myself.

I doubt one missing day or one particular 18 day month will be of particular note to the court but you know mom is going to play it up and dance around the fire, complaining to all that will listen.

I live and work less that 5,000' from the school and what you suggest is excellent and ideally what I would do.

Nj/stbx's attorney has the slickest lines in letters and court to make me look like a POS from every angle. I'm not keen on making it easier for the opposing side to cast me in negative light.

I expect nj/stbx to ask for an early dismissal to pickup S8 before I do or maybe she won't ask at all. There's contention for S8 this weekend so I have to gauge my want for parenting time vs. his need to be in school.

I'll be taking S8 to school on Fri morning (by keeping him overnight on Thursday against the wishes of nj/stbx).

Absolutely no custody/< parenting time > orders. Nj/stbx's attorney is motioning court to move up permanent custody trial asap to lock me into 1 day per week babysitter/taxi driver.

Nj/stbx/mom had police visit marital home (my residence) this weekend to do a wellness check on S8 and left him in my care after doing so. I'm wrapping up the weekend visit and will walk S8 to school on Monday.

Nj/stbx/mom will play it up big time. Her f$&!ing attorney is amazing at twisting reality into the most amazing asymmetric fiction I've ever seen/heard.

Attorneys are one of the few professional groups that are highly skilled at defining millions of shades of gray between black and white.

I have to get my attorney to rubber stamp my plan too.
