I dont know. But I suppose it is not expensive. Then again, her parents have money so..

And yes, this thread started some time ago with different problems, and I wasnt sure whether to keep making new threads or to keep it all here :?:

Anyway, since page 1, she flipped, left kiddos at a strangers house, while she went out and crashed a car amd attempted assault on two onlookers/other driver.
Cops came out and brought her to the station where she exposed herself and seduced cops. She was then transported to a psych ward for about 10 days.

Meanwhile, kiddos were picked up by her parents and were on the lamb in neighboring state.

I only found out about this as the day she flipped was our day in court and she didnt show. I was not getting S8 on my daily phone < parenting time > calls. I filed a missing childrens report, and after nearly a week of no contact, was reunited with kiddos 3 hours away where I had to go find her parents.

NJ was still in hospital, so I went in on an EOP and got kiddos and house secured.
NJs lawyer withdrew, and she filed motion to vacate EOP pro se upon her release from hospital.
Judge said no way. So here I am now.

UPDATE: Ain't been here in a while. Been tougher to frequent since transitioning from EOW to full time dad.
Still in the marital home since June with S8, S1.5, with an OP protecting all of us from NJ to boot.
Depleted my savings to pay GAL plus retain new counsel. Previous counsel withdrew due to being conflict of interest as we were both named as defendants in NJ's Federal suit against everyone and their dog.
I completed my psychological evaluation. I came out hitting positive for ADHD
I suppose that's pretty moot as NJ's hit positive for Bipolar with psychotic tendencies :D plus she has the psych ward rap sheet.
Had status hearing yesterday with my new counsel and NJ pro se.
Judge literally told NJ that she appears mentally unfit/incompetent to represent herself. This was because she started ranting on about S8 allegedly being sexually abused last year (which child services indicated unfounded after investigation).
NJ stated she had no money to retain new counsel (which will be her fourth), so judge said she would provide her counsel if need be..
Whatever.
NJ requested to remove personal items from the house. Judge said yes, please do.
I emphasized that I have ALL of her thing bagged and boxed in the garage, so all she needs is a moving truck.
NJ said she has no money for a moving truck, so she will show up for just a few bags
I got a little heated toward her and my new counsel (judge was gone). I am simply tired of the revolving door, and want her to get EVERYTHING. The GAL understood, and assured me this was the last time before the last time :|
Btw, NJ has filed her own motion to remove the GAL.
We are also on our third judge.
This judge is a no nonsense female as well.
GAL verbally opposed to being excused for frivolous reasons, and also informed judge that she is also named in the suit in Federal court.
Judge orders GAL to provide her the psychological evaluations to read personally.
Up until now, since NJ's meltdown in June, she has had no contact with the boys whatsoever.
Judge just granted her once a week phone call with S8, and only in a conference call with GAL present :D
Judge also ordered that GAL establish a supervised < parenting time > for NJ, overseen by a psychologist.
Judge indicated that my health insurance should cover it. 8 )

Honestly, reading your posts, that's not much of a surprise. I was recently diagnosed myself, started taking meds, and cannot believe the difference in my life. As far as I am concerned, Vyvanse is a miracle drug. Get treatment.

What do you mean by "Honestly, reading your posts, that's not much of a surprise."

No insult is intended. I meant that you come off as a bit frantic. ADD takes a couple of forms. Some people have the straight ADD version (myself), and some have a hyperactive component, where the thoughts race and have more 'drama' for the lack of a better description. You can no more control it than you can control the action of a virus on your body, it's a neurological condition.

My frank advice is to try medication, preferably advised by a psychiatrist rather than a general practitioner. I have been taking medication for 17 days. I cannot express how much my world has changed. I can focus so much better at work, I can remember tasks and commitments easily and am much more productive in both my professional and personal life.

Try treatment. There is no shame in it.

I don't feel insulted. I'm just amazed when folks make statements, such as passing advice, without first asking questions to educate themselves with the facts. I see this with other men at times, the kind whos ego doesn't allow them to ask questions. There's generally a word for guys like that: D-bag.
I am not calling you that, as that would mean that I'm assuming that you never ask questions, which is something I will never know. I'm simply saying that, if it was me, before I would pass judgement by implying someone's ashamed of trying treatment, I'd first ask them if they've tried treatment.

So moving forward. I do agree with you A4H; It has worked "wonders," albeit with the initial headaches/and disrupted sleep/decreased appetite.
It has also, however, sort of become a little cost prohibitive, as this health clinic will not renew prescription to the pharmacy electronically, and forces me to go in to the clinic once a month to collect my co-payment.
I'm thinking of transferring my records over to another health clinic, one which will renew my prescription for longer than thirty days, before forcing me to come in and treat me like an atm.
