So imagine a guy had a baby with a girlfriend, NJ kinda like his ex in some ways, wackier in other ways. What would you guys say to do?

I'd plan out a fail safe custody plan. It might take 2-3 years to set up, then pull the trigger.

He's gotta play it cool to get 50/50 of kids with NJ1. He has to document the parenting of kid with NJ2. Keep her happy, not really all that hard and she's going to school so he has plenty of time to parent... hm... just gotta have the determination for a long term plan of a couple years. That isn't easy for him, but it is what he's got to do... could end up with 50/50 of all kids, in time, right?
