Double standard pseudofeminist CRAP!!

Postby KeepingMyKids » Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:36 am

Apparently NJ and some of her cronies are pitching a royal fit to anyone who will listen how I'm an evil, mooching, greedy bastidge for my motion to enforce on CS. Yet in her motion to modify she counterfiled....yep, she wants me to pay CS. I make a ludicrously low hourly salary as a legal assistant (started out as part time runner, but within a week they had me on full time doing assistant duties as well), she just graduated from nursing graduate school and is making six figures. I didn't ask for anything more than standard calculated CS (Texas), but because she makes a metric ***load more than I do, I'm the bad guy. Trust me, if she'd sign away all rights to the kids and let us go live our lives, I'd completely release her from any and all financial obligations. The CS will definitely help, but I'm not going to be relying on it. Most of it is going to be invested in CD's to save for the kids' college, as no telling how much (if any) NJ will be involved with that.

Sorry for the rant. I'm not the only one who has caught this kind of flak, right?

Stop listening.

If there is anyone you care about who *is* listening, simply say "There is a reason why we're divorced, sorry you are having to hear what I've been hearing for years. I trust you will consider the source".

Thicken your skin... there is nothing you can do to stop a hen from cackling.

I've had old church ladies say "shame on you, she's a good girl" to me in the store one time. They of course have zero clue of the real deal. Who cares. If you try to convince the world, you'll die trying. Just be a good dad and do what your doing. Consider yourself luckier than most of us in here, your nutjob ex works..and makes money!

This is a huge double standard. If you were making 6 figures you can believe the whole world would want to see you poor and destitute funding her lifestyle.

In time, most people will realize the true story. There's nothing you can do now-defend/explain yourself to those that matter-ignore the rest. Some people want to listen for the drama points alone.
And those who feel you're in the wrong just cause you're a guy will never change their mind-it's like a racist. So just let it go.

Sorry you're going thru this-but remember-it's not your money you're fighting for-it's your children's money.

Yes, it is a double standard. My situation is the NJ makes 6 figures (actually about 1/4 million per year). I make about 50K. CS? Nope, doesn't happen. Have I asked? Nope, not since before the final decree was signed. Of course I would like some assistance from her but I'm doing OK and do have 50/50 which is the most important. Asked during the divorce process for child support and she went ballistic and asked for child support from me. Imagine that?? So let her live her high and mighty life style, it doesn't seem to make her happy. Money seldom does.

Yup. In a divorce, the guy can do nothing right....in the eyes of society. If I were a female, they'd have given me the protective order that I requested when I left. As I'm a 6'4" guy though...the magistrate all but laughed at me. Where family law is concerned, it's the 1950's (in VA...at least).

I can only imagine what my NJ has said about me. I just now (96 days after separation) shut off the utilities at the house. The only reason I did that was that I simply could no longer afford to pay for everything. Yeah...you read that right. She didn't pay a cent for anything and still had the nerve to go online and elsewhere and tell everyone what a bad guy I was.

She makes $25/hr and has $130 of bills on her own. It's not as if she can't afford to help out. I'm sure that when I get her to court, she'll whine and whine about how broke she is and how I've wronged her.

/deep cleansing breath. With a chaser of Patron.

Feeling much less gripey now, kids finally got a chance to call me on Saturday morning, plus spent first weekend in a month with wife and stepdaughter, hitting bookstores, leather supply shop, farmer's market in Denver. Plus another huge bonus in our favour - my wife's grandmother took me aside and told me that she wants to give us her four bedroom house, just take up the mortgage payments on it and it's ours. Large fenced in backyard, two car garage, five minute drive from elementary school, house in good shape, good family neighborhood; she just isn't up to the standard home upkeep (being 82) and her husband of 60 years just passed away, so she is having a tough time being there alone. Keeping fingers crossed.
