I voted maybe/no. My $.02 is that by the time a man or woman cheats on their spouse, there's already a bigger issue at hand than his/her weight. Why do I say this? Statistically, people cheat with someone that is less physically attractive than their spouse (i.e. see Arnold Schwarzenegger). If that weren't the case, then the "he cheated because she got fat" line might stand up to scrutiny.
By the time a man is that fed up with the weight of his spouse, she's likely changed mentally/emotionally (to go along with the weight) in a manner that no longer has him feeling connected to her.
I can say from personal experience (though I didn't cheat on my wife), that I looked at her differently when I met her vs. when I left her. Her weight hadn't changed that much, but by the time I left...I no longer felt any kind of love, attachment, bond, etc. with her.
The thing that comes to mind in my case is the movie Shallow Hal. I no longer saw Gwyneth Paltrow (yeah...this is going some)...I saw a blob that was completely revolting...both physically and emotionally. Again...just my $.02.
