I'm wondering what that statistic is for men being attacked by their intimate partner.

The article states it is 1 in 10. I doubt the accuracy. Studies show the numbers to be about equal.

Speaking from my own experience, when my spouse gave me my third black eye, I went to 2 shelters for help. One simply told me I had to leave without explanation and the other threatened to call the police if I didn't leave.
