Custody / Support

Postby jbc2 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:21 pm

Divorced for 10 years. 2 girls lived with 'the creature' for 9 years. 15 yo girl moved to SC from MD with me a year ago. 12 yo girl stayed in MD with mom. No problem with new parenting agreement. Support split so that neither paid as we each had one child. Now 12 yo has moved to SC with us. Mother very absurd parenting agreement proposal (I pay for the kids to visit her, I pay for HER travel here to visit kids, etc.).
Mom has agreed in writing (email) to move and the move has occurred.
Question is this: where do I file for custody and child support? MD or SC? Both children live with me in SC............

Where was the original custody order entered? MD or SC?

Regardless, I would file in SC. It is local to you and more difficult for her. If there is a legal argument to be made for the legal venue being in MD, force her to make it. Let her travel to SC for a few hearings and see how quickly she gets tired of it.

This is funny. I wouldn't bother to respond.

Get your daughter in school and let some time go by. File for Child Support after a good 6 months of solid, successful status quo.
