need advice please

I have full custody of my children ex gets them in summer and during vacations every other year. She recently moved 8 hours away. She called me today asking if the kids could miss a week of school so she make the trip with her mother. Her mom is take the week before thanksgiving off and supposedly cannot change the dates. My initial response was no am I being unfair?

Sounds like you're sticking to the schedule. If I didn't want my kids to miss school but did want them to spend time with gradma, I might say no and offer her to pickup the kids after school on the last school day before school vacation to maximize their time with grandma while not missing school...If that works for you.

You could also ask for make-up time.
