custody with young children and baby on way?

Well I thought my divorce was thrown out but apparently my wife reconciled, got pregnant and now is pushing the divorce forward again.

I have a 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter. I'm in Cobb County Georgia? What are realistic custody expectations without her being a junkie or alcoholic when she has been a stay at home mom?

I have some evidence of a few disturbing episodes but mostly she is a good Mom. I just want a significant physical and legal position in their lives as well as get the best child support agreement so she works. A two year marriage shouldn't get her 18 years of no work child support.

I am in a custody battle in Cobb county too. I am going to tell you without some serious dirt on her you are not likely to get more than joint legal and her the primary. Cobb rarely takes young girls from their moms.

Be warned if you get Judge Ingram she is the most woman friendly judge. I had a DEFACS worker tell her they were concerned for my children in my STBX's care and Ingram still ruled for the STBX.

Seriously if your STBX is a good mom negotiate, save money and get it over with. The nice thing is courts tend to not give alimony these days, but you will have to pay child support for 18 years.

In GA with real young kids I was told to not expect much better than every other weekend, and maybe not even that with my 18 month old for some time. That seem ridiculous to me as I had done 100% of the nighttime care of the child, due to her mom's postpartum OCD.

I went down the route of going with the STBX (supposedly should have been final last Friday) to a divorced parenting coach/psychologist and having him recommend a custody situation. He pushed joint physical and a 2/2/5/5, and she changed her tuned and bought into it. I agreed to move out immediately so she would have more free time with Mr. Wonderful, if she started working that custody arrangement. Got it written into the divorce decree that we signed and sent to the courts.

If you can negotiate with her, do so. and get her to think it's her idea, so when < edited > flies, it was on her.

Glad to hear GA you got that. My expert isn't going that way because "we" aren't cooperating, but you know who isn't. Expert isn't going 50/50 because of that, but says it can turn into it once he starts school. Also states that no more than 3 days apart. But under her initial plan, on the stbx weekend, I would go 4 days plus without seeing him. Her expert said 2 on, 2 off....hoping that will swing to settle. Report not coming until later this month.

Thanks for the advice. I've met both judge Ingram and her sister. Glad they arent involved. Thanks for the advice. This is a very painful situation that the court is that hard on good dad's
