The dead air is just as important - record continuously, not just when someone is speaking.

Good point.

I will leave it on and running. I have to get into the habit of uploading the data to the computer every morning so that I don't run into any memory problems. This recorder does have a memory card option as well for additional memory.

Thank you.

It appears that you're doing everything right. Good luck.

Come back here for advice. Next steps is interviewing attorneys. If you live in a small town, interview as many as possible because she won't be able to use anyone you interview :)

You'll want it to record all night if possible. Mine followed me everywhere and recorded all night while I slept. Nothing like waking in the middle of the night to find your ex in your bedroom with a burr up her butt.

Thank you for the encouragement and advice. It means a lot.

I'm currently working on getting an attorney.

I will definitely come here if I have any questions.

Something that shouldn't be overlooked: make sure you're still eating well. Try to sleep enough. It's easy to fall into a funk with all this going on, but make sure that you're still taking care of yourself. You've got to be there for your kids.

Thank you for the concern.

I'm averaging 3 hours of sleep a night, and I'm eating 2 meals a day.

I will work on taking better care of myself.

I plan on taking the kids to the YMCA after work to go swimming.

I have an update.

I was awakened last night by the wife.

I had the recorder on a table next to some papers on the couch. It was on and recording.

She apologized for telling me to get out by Saturday, but she said that I can take all the time I need to get out so I'm not out on the street. Also, she said she does not want to get back together ever.

I didn't respond. She went back to the bedroom, and I tried to go back to sleep.

I slept about 3 hours last night.

I'm pretty down this morning.

I'm proud of myself that I didn't go off the handle and stayed calm.

I'm hurting because like I have said before I love my wife. It hurts to get told to your face that you are not loved.

From my reading and research so far, I believe she might be bi-polar and has not been diagnosed. She seems to have a lot of the symptoms. Also, her brother has been officially diagnosed with it.

I downloading my first recording files to my computer her at the office as I type this post.

I hope everyone else here in the forums has had a better morning.

Is Hoosier_dad good, or what?

Radio silence. She has no need to know about what you are planning. Expect her to start getting upset when you are making no plans/progress toward moving out. That's when the recorder is valuable.
