Questions asked on this forum used against me?

Postby Tornapart50 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:15 pm

If I a ask financial question on this forum and STBX finds out about my questions and advice given can she use it against me in court? I know it's vague but she's very computer savvy and I need some financial advice. In order to get a correct answer I need to ask specific questions and I don't want it to backfire on me. Right before she left she put new solid state hard drives in my computer and put in ghost backup for the hard drive. And she still has the router locked with her username and password. I'm getting a new router this week so she can't remotely gain access. She did all this before I had any idea she had filed for divorce. Just need to know about the consequences of asking questions on this forum or if there are any?

IMO, there are very few negative consequences for asking questions and the benefit derived from getting the correct answers to your specific questions far outweigh the possible negatives.

My ex stalked me online and had printouts of questions I asked online, as well as threads on other forums she attempted to smear me with. It didn't do any good, though the judge did comment that I may have been coached on how to get the best results for custody.

As long as you're not exchanging meth formulas, posting hooker reviews or giving away specific strategy for your case and your asking above board questions looking for honest answers I'm not seeing how it would be used against you.

You could always go to your local library to post the questions. Pretty sure she can't track you from there.

Also, slip in some stuff to keep her off track. For example, if you've got a car you don't care too much about post that you want to keep it.

The 2 posts ahead of me are from 2 of the most highly regarded men on this forum...so listen to them.

Of course you can always use my two cents..and remember, it's only two cents...screw your stbx (doubt it would matter what you post, but maybe she would have an idea where you're going forward)..put in an anti-keylogger on your computer if you must...lock up the computer...delete your cache (ccleaner)...Post from your Ipad/Itouch/Iphone/TouchPad/etc...that is assuming they are in your possession at all times.

I wouldn't worry about the router too much most have a reset button you hold in and you can reset the password. Chances are though that she is seeing every thing you do on your computer. If it were mine I would have the computer formatted. As a side note be careful with cell phones too. In less then 5 minutes you can load a program on one that will send you a copy of every thing.
