New stealth mode/https/other new features

We've hopefully arrived at a mobile template for the forums that is lightweight but has all the good features.

We've also uploaded a "Stealth" template based on the mobile template. We took off all the big DadsDivorce branding so that if someone is looking over your shoulder it is less apparent what you're looking at. To access it, go to: User Control Panel > Board Preferences > My Board Style and choose either the dadsdivorce, stealth, or prosilver (mobile) template. This will become your default template.

Also, Matt will probably want to do a story about the forums updates for the DadsDivorce site. Could you clarify how you use the https mode? What benefit does this secure layer offer you? Also, any other comments about the forums would be appreciated.

I like how the mobile version of the site has evolved. The only thing I don't like about it is it always puts that little "posted from a mobile device" tag at the bottom. Then if you edit the post, it adds it again, and you have to go back in and delete the lines or you'll have multiple mobile tag lines. Kind of annoying, but no other complaints.

The only real complaint I have so far about stealth mode is that there is no link to view active topics when you're in stealth mode unless you're back in the root board index. If I read a thread or make a post, I have to click board index before I can click view active topics again.

What I worry about is that the links to Cordell and Cordell mean if you are using them for their attorney, your stbx can look in here after looking at that website...read some of the threads and by process of deduction possibly arrive at who you are by what is said.


I know its crazy....but I'm starting to learn how lazy people who are trying to !@$#!% an unfair amount of your kids time, and your money out of you are thinking. There is actually effort put into, "How can I !@#$! him happily ever after?"

The danger there is that you have to REMEMBER to go incognito, and if you forget, all the crumbs are left behind.

With stealth mode on dd.com at least, you set it in preferences and you can forget about it.

It also should be pointed out that all logins should use https at a minimum, if not for the whole session.

However, it seems that the dadsdivorce.com certificate has expired back in 2011! Please fix!

I'm fairly certain that if SSL were on, it would not route through DadsDivorce's server, but Forumatic's. I was going to look into this and honestly just forgot about it. I agree it's a great idea.

I'd recommend to anyone and everyone a company called Private Internet Access, who sells anonymous VPN access for $40 a year. I run with my VPN on 100% of the time. It will keep you safe even on non-SSL sites.

I'll get back to you on the SSL logins.
