Real Divorce Court videos?

Postby lostinMN » Mon Jul 30, 2012 3:47 pm

I was wondering if anyone knows of any real divorce videos, perhaps on YouTube, to help give an idea what to expect.

I've never heard of cameras in family court though they would probably be a good idea to show the screwing some get in there by biased judges.

Here is a state by state guide to the legality to those that are interested.

Your best bet is to go to the court room you will be in and see how the judge rules his courtroom. Every one is different and watching a youtube video of a courtroom in *somewhere else* isn't the best way to prepare for your day in court.

Yup. For the hearing I have on the 9th...I can draw one of three judges. My new attorney essentially said that it's a crap shoot. In my case (this is based on talking to several attorneys...not just the one I'm going to court with)...

Judge 1 Would likely kick NJ out of my house with no more than 30 days notice (as she's already had 100+ days of "notice" ). He'd treat her as the freeloader that she is.

Judge 2 will chew me out for cutting the utilities and not giving her written notice...as well as give her 60-90 days to get out of the house (while paying 50% or 100% of the mortgage). This would be the more neutral of the judges.

Judge 3 will likely allow her use of the marital residence for the remainder of the separation (8+ months)....while paying 50% of 100% of the mortgage. He would also likely allow her some spousal support. This would be the 1950's female friendly judge.

In a nutshell...I won't have an idea of what to expect till I find out what judge we've drawn. That's what has me so anxious about the whole thing...not having any idea what to expect.
