Recording in Court?

I would love to have a recording of the ex losing it on the stand.

Me too. Remarkably, mine was what I'd consider well composed. No crying, no screaming, etc.

My lawyer said she thought the NJ acted like a nut, but I told her that was her very best behavior.

I was hoping to get the Youtube video of the year: "X wife on the stand"

I do have something I would love to put on youtube. But I'd have to find out the statute of limitations for it.

I agree, It would be nice to have a place on this site to put small video recordings and audio recordings, a place to share some of the evidence we have collected, for a laugh or advise!

Probably not a good idea. If the NJ showed the court that you published something about your case it would not look good for you.

You should never do anything to potentially harm your case.

Agreed, Ticking off the judge is not a wise way to go. As mentioned above, one wouldn't want to use a recording of a hearing in a later hearing, especially with the same judge. Though if one was appealing a case, using it as proof that the earlier court made a mistake is a possibility (though the appellate judge may not be pleased that you silently recorded a fellow judge).

The way it works in my juristiction is that they record the hearings.

If you want to appeal, or need the transcript, you hire a court reporter to transcribe your hearing.

So, if you record, your recording isn't technically needed for anything besides your own use.

They do that here too. Though the judge can pause the official recording.

Yea, right before they do something that they know will get them overturned on appeal.

If you don't trust your judge, the only way to protect yourself is to bring your own court reporter in, which will be somewhat threatening to the judge.
